Helping Small Communities Deliver Safe Drinking Water When It Matters Most
Approximately 85% of the Nation's public drinking water systems are small, serving fewer than 1,000 people. Many face aging infrastructure that's hard to repair. And when new technology hits the market, these systems are often the last to access it — limited financial resources and staff time keep it out of reach, even though the need for cost-effective, easy-to-use treatment couldn't be greater.

State and federal funding programs are limited, highly competitive, and often difficult to access. Complex eligibility rules, application requirements, and administrative burdens can delay critical investments, leaving small communities without timely funding when drinking water systems need urgent attention.

Many small communities rely on a mix of part-time, volunteer, or minimally staffed water system operators. Limited staffing capacity can make it difficult to manage day-to-day operations, respond to emergencies, maintain compliance, or take on new infrastructure investments without sustained, hands-on support.

Most drinking water treatment technologies are designed for larger systems, making them costly, complex, and slow to install at a small scale. Small communities need affordable, prefabricated solutions that can be deployed quickly and operated reliably under real-world conditions.
